The internet has changed almost everything, especially education. According to a recent survey, 1 in 4 college students were taking at least 1 online class. Online learning is much more economically and environmentally friendly. Not only do students spend less on gas and textbooks, but they also pay less tuition. Bill Gates said not too long ago in a conference in Lake Tahoe, CA that in a few years anyone should be able to locate the best lectures worldwide online, thereby rendering educational institutions obsolete.
Bill Gates has even helped sponsor Khan Academy which offers “a free world-class education for anyone anywhere.” They have over 2,100 videos online that range from simple algebra to the Vietnam War. The internet provides opportunities for anybody able to invest time to learn. Financial resources are becoming less important whereas time and access to internet are all anyone would need to learn important and important information. Although it can be quite a powerful and destructive force to society and our planet, the internet is helping bring to pass great improvements in education and instruction. There is also educational funding programs available for college students and minorities. As an example, they provide scholarships for African Americans that will help them finance their educational needs.

Many individuals have access to these tools however they are simply lazy or they don’t know about them.
The future of education is a bright one. It actually is constantly evolving and becoming more accessible for all.
